About

It was out of love for the beauty of craftsmanship and the art of decoration that Christel Boniface gave birth to Stella Forest's little sister; but this time for a home collection; THE STELLA'S CABINET.

The search for authenticity and the desire to use only natural materials, spontaneously pushed the team of La Cabane de Stella on the road to India, between Delhi and Jaipur, country dear to his heart for many years. Knowing the traceability and the origin of the products, and materials, led the team to meet the artisans and their workshops. Sensitive to the craftsmanship and the particularity of the Indian prints, La Cabane de Stella drew its inspiration from the cultural and artisanal wealth of India. Each print is made with an engraved wooden stamp, representing the pattern of the print, and placed on the fabric. This process is repeated manually pattern by pattern, color by color which makes each piece unique.

The same prints are available for the household linen (plaid, quilted bed cover, cushion, beach towel), as well as for clothes for the beach line (djellaba, poncho, pajama pants) and the city line (blouse, dress, Kimono).
In order to limit our borrowing on the planet, only natural materials have been selected, such as fine and fluid cotton sails, jute for carpets and baskets. Cotton gauze is hand-woven by a local community that perpetuates the tradition of generation and generation. Similarly for carpets, manually braided string by string, which allows to imagine the number of hours necessary to achieve such a work.
The art of the table, made in Portugal, in a small workshop near Porto is also crafted. Each plate, bowl, cup is mounted by hand, on a potter's wheel, leaving a little room for random colors and lines.
Linen or ready-to-wear coordinated in warm and soft colors, evoking those of nature: khaki, ocher, ecru, nude, pepper, raspberry .......

Our expertise

La Cabane de Stella works with noble and natural materials. In order to obtain the best products, we use different production methods such as: block print, hand weaving, hand-made potter's tower or engraved wood stamping.

All products are handmade, handcrafted in India. The kimonos are silk and each piece is unique. They are designed from Indian saris in the strictest respect of ancestral know-how. This technique is called "Kantha" and consists of gathering two different tissues by hand.
